My Books and Articles

Well, it seems that American Idol has another off-the-wall winner. We probably all wonder how in the world we couldn't come up with some of these fantastic songs that soar to the top the first time out!? All the kids are going around singing it and actually, I already have it as a ring tone---which I will use when my goofey brother calls me.

Most people my age (let's just say---beyond sixty), probably think that someone walking down the street with their pants below their buttocks and their flowery print boxers up around their waist look pretty ridiculous; but, that's the In' thing, it's cool, it's hip, etc., etc. At least that's the opinion of the younger crowd.

What I wonder, is how these people keep their "cool" when half the world see's their backside on nationwide TV as they watch " Cops"? I know we only see the blurred out version (thank God), but I'm sure there's many bystanders that see the true-to-life version. Or when their pant's leg gets caught in the track of an escalator and the escalator is not the only thing going down?

I watched General Larry Platt put on his song and dance number and although he's 62 and a little older than most AI talent, he had my vote right out of the gate. I thought he was adorable (although, I'm sure that was not his intention) and I'm sure there is much more to the man than meets the eye---or ear! He had moves that most past-sixty'ers can only dream about! And the last thing he did was look like a fool.

Great job Mr. Platt!

Sandra,

I agree. I just watched him on YouTube and I like his words.  I think I heard recently about some thief that tripped over his pants and fell to his death.  I understand fads but not this one.

I was just glad to hear that someone besides me think those falling down pants look foolish.
