Will Susan Boyles Dream Become a Nightmare?

Susan Boyle, Britain 's Got Talent's sweetheart', is back in the news this week. But it isn't her voice that all the hub-bub is about this time; it's her new look-new hairdo, new eye brows, and new clothes. A total makeover. She has gone from frumpy' to fashionable and what will this do to her public image?
It is only natural that a person who has spent most of their life doing for others, eventually turn some of that focus on themselves. And if anyone has the right to improve her outward appearance, Susan Boyle is that person. There is no doubt that she got where she is on her own cognition and remarkable God-given talent. So, who has more right than Susan Boyle herself to decide how she wants to look?
Could that image of diamond-in-the-rough be diminished by the new Hollywood look that Miss Boyle is currently touting? Possibly. Too often we see sudden wealth and popularity go to the head of the recipient and the pure unadulterated innocence that brought that person to the limelight is lost in the glitter and glitz of commercialism. The person becomes as false as the painted backdrop on a movie set.
We don't want to see this happen to Susan Boyle. She is the culmination of a dream that not only belongs to her alone, but to the world. As long as the inner Susan remains the Susan that the world fell in love with, then we shouldn't pass harsh judgement too quickly on her desire to improve on her outward appearance-she has earned that right. And I for one wish her all the best and hope that her dreams continue come true.

I see what you mean Sandra, and I agree completely, she shouldn't change completely. Thanks for reading and commenting, Mr. HomesHave a wonderful week-end.Sandra
I seen her as well Sandra on You Tube and I just loved her the way she was, and she has a beautiful Voice....I often wonder about Paul Potts, another winner of Britians Got Talent, he looks tired and he was a humble person just like Susan.....Scary in a way, but wonderful for them at the time, and it worrys me again that someone who was just the next door neighbour , turns famous, how will they handle it?Paul Looks exhausted...did you ever hear him sing? I didn't like Opera until he sang it.....I hope that Susan see's your article and see's us the commenters, saying we hope she doesn't change.Thank you, Kathy. It would be great, but I doubt she will be able to read 1/3 of the articles and reviews written about her. However, I'm sure she will see many news reports that think they same way we do.No, I have never heard Paul sing, I will have to check him out. Thanks again and have a wonderful week-end.Sandra
It's okay to change the outside to give herself a better public image on stage, but it is what happens on the inside that will make or break her career.Let's keep our fingers crossed that she doesn't change on the inside. Her down to earth image, along with the voice of an angel certainly surprised a lot of people. Thanks for reading and commenting.Sandra
Amen Sister! Amen!Thanks, Teresa.Sandra
Sandra, I think you are right about the "Diamond In The Rough" theory. If she remains the same, and down to earth as we all know her, then she will go extremely far in her singing career. She now has her wish to be a professional singer, now lets she how she handles it. I have to say though, she is a Christian, and is used to visiting the elderly at her church, I wonder if she will still do that? She has sacraficed allot, and does deserve her dream, I only hope she is wise enough to keep her personality, and humbleness to those around her, and the elderly who KNOW her. I sincerely hope that doesn't change......Great Article, great read...You may be interested in reading my article about her competition Shaheen Jafargholi. I really think they are both in a class of their own, but they call him "her competition". Thanks for the great read, your fan and friend........GaryThanks, Gary. Yes, I've heard about the 12-year-old that was giving Susan a 'run for the money'.Thanks for reading and commenting. I haven't read your article yet, but I just got back home from down South and will get busy reading again.Sandra
