I Dreamed a Dream

My Books and Articles
Everyone has a dream, whether it is for riches, power, long life, love….and the list could go on forever. The problem with most dreams is that-they remain dreams. Several generations back, few people had time for dreams. Children and young adults had their dreams quickly squashed by parents who felt that hard work and dedication would be the only way a young person could get ahead in a harsh world.
My life long dream was to become a published author, but coming from a poor farming family I knew that my destination was to by-pass the education I wanted and go straight into the workforce to help my large family with everyday needs.
At sixty-three years of age, I have finally realized my dream-I have had two books published and am working on a third. I don't mind if I don't become a well-known author, reveling in riches. That was not part of the dream. My dream was to leave something to help my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to remember my parents and the hard work and love that they lavished on each other and their eight children.
Now I would like to share another dream with you. This was the most beautiful dream that I have witnessed in my entire life. This was the dream of a woman who put aside her dream to take care of an ailing mother. After her mother died, she decided to fulfil her dream in tribute to her mother. If you haven't seen this delightful and totally heart-rending event, please click on the following link to view the most beautiful Dream come to fruition:
Listen to this and then try to tell me there is no God!
You won't regret this-it is simply remarkable. To all searchwarpers who have ever had a dream-Live your dream while you can.

More commentsGreat article. Well done.I watched the episode on Britain’s Got Talent and agree with you. I was taken aback. Some great points - you are a very modest person. I admire that. Thanks, Connor. It was a wonderful, heartwarming show. I don't believe I have ever seen anything so great. The looks on those judges and audiences faces were priceless.SandraDid you see the young girls face in the audiance before she performed. I will never forget that.I saw that. Typical of today's automatic reaction to a 'books cover', before reading the book. The expressions afterwards were priceless.SandraI am happy that 100 million people or so have seen that girls face...I bet she feels stupid! I would.Something worth saving--that's for sure. And I also loved the raised eye-brows on the one judge (his name slips my mind at the moment, but I'm sure you saw it too).SandraHim! Peirs Morgan... I can't stand him if that is who you are on about. That's his name and I give him the benefit of a doubt only because my Christian teaching says I must (but secretly--I think he's full of himself!).SandraHe spent most of his live with the Mirror* destroying peoples lives. To do that you must be full of yourself.* Nonsense publishing British tabloid.Yeah, he is really self-centred, which is why I am not much of a fan of him. Also, did you notice how Amanda was looking like "oh no, not again"?Yes. Then she went onto say about being cynical! I do not like any of the judges much.
Great article Sandra, I too am 63, and I have had the same dream, (seems to be common amoungst writers), but alas, as you have so acurately pointed out, we get hung up in providing for our families, and although I am published in other books, not my own, I still feel a certain amount of success....I have no regrets, and would do it all over again.....Great read, and wonderfully said.......your fan, and friend, Gary.....sorry I haven't been around for awhile, now that the overtime has slowed down, I can start reading again!!!! It's great to be backThanks so much, Gary. We are all certainly glad to have you back. We all have to take a little time away from our writing for searchwarp to get some things done. Glad to have you back and thanks for reading and commenting.Sandra
Ms. Sandra,Thanks for sharing this with us! Because I, too have this to say about my own dreams: "...list could go on forever..."I think we all have lists of dreams that could go on--I hope your favorites come through for you; if not all. Thanks for reading and commenting.SandraThank you for that Ms. Sandra!Stay Blessed
Hi Sandra, one of your many gifts is that you are able to encourage others in such subtle , yet powerful way. I love how you shared something personal and then ended by turning our focus to another amazing individual. I had seen this video the other day, I imagine it is landing in every "in box" across the world.Thank you for your continued inspiration! Blessings! TeresaThanks, Teresa--and you always know just the right words to make a person feel special. Thank you so much.Sandra

Sandra, I love your story. I'm glad you followed your dream!Thank you so much, Lorrie. Glad you enjoyed the article.Sandra
Good to see you followed your dream.I have a few dreams, but some of them are hard to follow due to lack of motivation. How well I know about motivation--right now I have such a lack that I haven't worked on my new book in ages. Of course, we have been busy cleaning up ice storm damage--one tree at a time. And now that Spring has sprung, we have to work on the yard and the house and the cook-outs have started; and we'll be opening the pool in a couple of weeks--that book just may have to wait a little longer. Thanks for reading and commenting, Mr. Home. Have a great week-end.Sandra
Thanks for this wonderful article, Sandra. My dream at the moment is to get a book of poetry published. I am currently working on it thanks to Gary Halsey's push, push, push, and all the encouragement from my readers.
Hi Sandra, I'm impressed with your story and glad that your dreams come true ( books published) and others.... it also reminds of Susan Boyle who sang this song and heard that she never been kissed. (she is cute, too)
