If I Had One Hundred Dollars With Which to Make the World....

What could one person do and with only one hundred dollars to do it with to make the world a better place? A hundred years ago one could probably have done a lot with that amount, but in today’s economy it would be like giving your son five dollars and telling him to go see a movie and have a bag of popcorn and a coke while he’s there. Never happen!

But let’s regroup and think about it for a moment. How could I put one hundred dollars to the best use possible to make the world a better place?

First of all I should look at some possibilities: I could

  • Buy 256.4 stamps to mail valentines to 256.4 soldiers in Iraq
  • -----but that doesn’t cover the valentines, just the stamps. If I bought valentines, I could only send them to 63.2 soldiers. So, I’ll x this off the list.

  • Sending cookies or candy would be totally out of the question. And in reality all of this would probably just make our guys more homesick than they already are.

  • 3. Why send candy and cards over seas? Why not just bring our boys and girls

    home?

At any rate one hundred dollars wouldn’t go very far unless of course, I and anyone else who had one hundred dollars bought fifty gallons of gasoline and drove all around the neighborhoods (until we ran out of gas) having a petition signed to remove Bush from office and bring all our soldiers home.

I couldn’t think of a better world than having no more of our children dying in a land that doesn’t want our help.

Another good article. Bring'um all home! That's what I say. They shouldn't be made to suffer because of some macho vendetta brought on by George Bush! Amen.
